Hot apple cider is the perfect drink warm up with friends on a cold autumn day! Here's our recipe for the perfect boozy hot apple cider.

Boozy Hot Apple Cider

Ingredients:

2 litres apple cider
1/4 cup real maple syrup
3 cinnamon sticks
1/2 tablespoon whole cloves
3 star anise pods
1 1/2 cups bourbon
1 orange sliced

Preparation:

Add cider, maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise and orange to a large pot. Heat on medium for 5 minutes or until cider is hot (but not boiling), stirring occasionally. Strain cider into a heat proof jug or mugs. Add bourbon and enjoy!

Optional: Garnish with orange slices, cinnamon stick and star anise. 

Makes approximately eight 8oz drinks.
